I got a text from the Jim Needham Furnace and Plumbing company about a free furnace check because a year ago I contacted them for a main sewage line cleaning quote. I set up an appointment thinking I would get a report and nothing would be done without my consent. I verified this verbally before Fred the technician began the check. An hour later Fred was showing my wife and I pictures of cracks in our heat exchanger, saying he shut down our furnace because dangerous amounts of CO was leaking through our heat registers. We were ready to buy a new furnace with money we didn’t have but we had a trusted by family expert come for a second opinion. What he found was our furnace was taken apart and not put back together. The trusted expert spent an hour putting the furnace back together and tested the CO emissions. THE METER READ ZERO.

Beware of consumer sabotage by Heating and Plumbing companies looking for work.
